Haunted is a casual game that was created during my first year of studies at IGAD, and the first project I worked on as a project manager and producer.
It was the second game project I worked on in University and was created by our a team of 7 over the course of 14 days. The game was created using Horde3D and plays oddly similar to a game of pinball, except the ball is a child and the bumpers are scary objects.
As this was the first project I ever worked on in a team leading capacity, I had to learn a lot in order to fulfill my role, and at the time I wasn’t necessarily expecting to move into production, but after the experiences made in managing this project i decided to move further into that field. I created schedules, organized meetings, extra days to develop the game, presented the game to supervisors, and in general tried to take care that there weren’t any problems that could negatively impact the development. Fortunately, the members of the team were also very talented and motivated.
I feel like the final product we ended up with was quite successful in delivering what we aimed for. During our semi-annual game release party at University it got an honorable mention for creating a game appropriate for our target audience of children at ages 7+, which was nice.
